If there is one thing that makes a good online forum or car community it’s the quality of its members, from rabid 10,000 plus posters to those offering advice and help to others. With this in mind it is high time we told the story of one of ZSC’s best known posters, and his love affair with the MG marque.

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, here is the story of G Force’s MG ZS 120!

It was Gerry McGovern’s MGF that initially drew G to the octagon badge, the 2 seater being his first experience of MG ownership.

“Well I first entered the world of MG’s with my MGF that I bought on holiday funnily enough. I went for a walk into town and saw her in a showroom and it was love at first sight!” After a few years of drop top fun the drawbacks of the cars two seater layout became problematic and G soon learnt of the ZS.

A good part exchange offer on the F, combined with a fair priced ZS meant G now had his dream car, and the mods came thick and fast. The hairpin alloys were quickly dispatched in exchange for something more original and subtle, closely followed by custom powerflow exhaust, and some custom electronics with switch panel mounted in the centre console. G has a reputation as somewhat of a Mad Scientist on the forum and the hatch showed his talents perfectly. After several years though G decided it was time to say ‘Goodbye’ to his ZS, much to the surprise of his fellow forum members, what wasn’t surprising, was G’s choice of replacement-a Trophy yellow ZS 180 saloon.

“The only reason I changed was because I wanted the V6 engine. The 180 is what I call a realistic dream car. A dream car that I actually own!”

Although he’s only owned the 180 for a few weeks if the 120 is anything to go by it won’t be long before the 180 is earning similar plaudits and nominations for the Car of the Month award, ! A fine car, a great member of the community one thing is certain; we certainly haven’t seen the last of him!
